As food and travel enthusiasts, were always looking for new adventures. Whether its discovering a scenic hiking trail, hopping on our bikes, or exploring the water in a kayak, were constantly searching for our next experience. Of course, we also love uncovering local hidden gems, but finding those spots can sometimes be easier said than done. Thats where the Hershey & Harrisburg Trails & Experiences App comes in. Not only does it help us discover incredible outdoor adventures, but it also points us toward delicious local treats along the way. So come along as we share just a few of the amazing places we discovered using the app.

Our first adventure started with our little pup, Ophelia. Shes an energetic ball of fluff who absolutely loves hitting the trails with us. This time, instead of spending hours Googling good hikes near me” and scrolling through endless search results, we opened the app, navigated to the Adventure Trail, and instantly found a variety of nearby hikes complete with descriptions, locations, and everything we needed to plan our day.

One trail immediately caught our eye: Shoafs Mill in Little Buffalo State Park. It turned out to be the perfect outing for the three of us. After enjoying the peaceful scenery and stretching our legs on the trail, we all agreed that a reward was in order. (Well, Ophelia definitely voted for that option.)

Back in the app, we switched over to the Sweet Treat Trail and discovered 3 Pups Bakery in Duncannon, PA. Not only did they have incredible baked goods for humans, but they also had plenty of treats for our four-legged friend. And heres the best part: every time you visit participating locations through the app, you can check in and earn points toward prizes. Adventure, treats, and rewards? Count us in.

Once we realized there were prizes involved, we became even more determined to explore!

Our first stop was the Cove Mountain Trailhead in Marysville, PA. This relatively easy 1.25-mile hike leads to a beautiful clearing overlooking the Susquehanna River. From the overlook, youll even catch a glimpse of Central Pennsylvanias very own Statue of Liberty standing in the middle of the river.

After checking in there, we headed about 15 minutes up the road to Hawk Rock near Duncannon. Trust us, the view is absolutely worth the climb. This moderately challenging 2.7-mile round-trip hike rewards visitors with a breathtaking overlook where the Susquehanna River cuts dramatically through the mountains below.

Not ready to stop exploring, we crossed back over the Clarks Ferry Bridge and made our way to Peters Mountain. Starting from the Mountaintop Parking Area in Halifax, this trailhead offers multiple adventure options. Hike east to reach the stunning views at Table Rock, or head west along the ridge line to another check-in location at Peters Mountain Ridge - Rocky View. Either way, youre treated to incredible vistas and a memorable outdoor experience.

To wrap up our adventure, we visited Boyd Big Tree Preserve off Fishing Creek Valley Road in Harrisburg. This 1,025-acre preserve is home to towering old-growth trees, peaceful woodland trails, and scenic views of Strohs Pond.

Whether youre searching for your next hike, looking for a sweet treat, planning a family outing, or simply hoping to discover something new close to home, the Hershey & Harrisburg Trails & Experiences App makes it easy. Best of all, every adventure brings the opportunity to earn rewards while exploring some of the regions most memorable destinations.
