Little Buffalo State Park Fishing Features Adventure Trail

A beautiful lake to visit and fish year-round, Holman Lake is as inviting after winter’s thaw as it is when ice hardens the surface. Fall? It’s difficult to describe the beauty of the lake’s surroundings as the colors change, so it’s best to see for yourself.

Anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, bullhead catfish, walleye, muskellunge, perch, and stocked trout. The PA Fish & Boat Commission designates the lake as a “Big Bass Lake,” so anglers are restricted to pulling no more than 4 bass that must be at least 15 inches long. Boaters are limited to electric motorcraft, so the waters remain calm and flush with fish roaming about the lake’s acreage.

Holman Lake is just a piece of the attraction that is Little Buffalo State Park. Families love the long list of activities from hiking and biking to camping and fishing. A large pool and picnic areas are also inviting in the warmer months.
