From the calm Susquehanna River to the smooth creeks in Hershey, we’ll give you some tips on where to find the best places to kayak in Harrisburg and Hershey. Bring your own equipment or connect with one of our outfitters who can supply you with kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards, and give you a lift to your launch site.

Swatara Creek

With launch points withing five minutes of Downtown Hershey, PA, the Swatara Creek is a favorite outdoor adventure spot for families and couples alike. The waterway provides a gentle float between shaded banks. Pass a variety of historical sites, fishing holes, small islands, and limestone outcrops.

Susquehanna River - Statue of Liberty Run

The scenic Susquehanna River draws adventurers looking to kayak, canoe, swim, and fish. A popular float passes by a mini version of the Statue of Liberty and through some moderate riffles that offer a challenging section along an otherwise docile float.

Conodoguinet Creek - Siebert Park Run

Easy paddling for beginners or families, the Conodoguinet Creek is a great option with shallow waters and a wide channel. We recommend a float that begins at Siebert Park and flows to the confluence with the Susquehanna River. It should take about 2.5 hours for the 2.6-mile float.
