Yellow Breeches Features

The Yellow Breeches is a well-known waterway for fly-fishing enthusiasts yet accessible for beginners as well. The well-stocked fishery winds its way through a limestone-rich region before emptying into the Susquehanna River. Long, shady pools are common along the water trail, with gentle riffles and the occasional dam. The Yellow Breeches is designated as a Pennsylvania Scenic Waterway.

The Run  

"The Run" is a short section of the Yellow Breeches Creek that serves as the outflow to Children's Lake.  This heavily-stocked area is flush with fish and a popular spot to cast a line. The Run operates under the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's catch-and-release, artificial lures only regulations.

Did you know? Relatives of American Folk Legend, Davy Crockett chose this beautiful space to build a family home in the late 1700s.

New Cumberland Borough Park   

New Cumberland Borough Park is a 29-acre park with Yellow Breeches Creek access for fishing. Any boaters entering the park from points upstream should exit the creek on the left upon entering the park to avoid the dam. Park amenities include ball fields, playground equipment, restrooms, picnic tables/pavilions and benches. A great spot for the whole family!
