William H. ‘Bill’ Smith Birthday Open House

Share:
Details

A true gentleman, William H. “Bill” Smith is considered the Museum’s founding father. He was larger than life and accomplished much to establish the Museum as America’s Transportation Experience. It didn’t matter if you were a world-famous celebrity, an owner of a multi-million-dollar collection, or a stranger he met at a car show, Bill treated everyone with warmth and respect.

On Bill’s birthday, Friday, January 24th, the Museum honors his legacy and spirit with a museum-wide open house. From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., we’re offering FREE ADMISSION, informative seminars, tours, and of course, birthday cake to all Museum visitors while supplies last.

Also, from noon until 1 p.m., Museum Board of Directors President Hank Hallowell and Curator Stan Sipko will fire up the grills and prepare a FREE LUNCH for all guests on hand.

Bill’s 1959 Chevrolet El Camino is currently displayed in our Forgotten Features: Classic & Cool Discontinued Options exhibit. He restored the car to award-winning status.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to the celebration open house!
It’s a great day to honor Bill’s commitment to founding the Museum.
