Join the City of Harrisburg for the 110th annual Kipona Festival on September 5-7, 2026. The 3-day event will feature a Family Fun Zone, Multicultural Celebration, live music, Art in the Park, food trucks, beer/wine garden, a Giant Puppet Parade, Keystone Dock Dogs competition, and more.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:  September 5: 11am-7pm   |   September 6: 11am-8pm (fireworks show to follow)   |   September 7: 11am-6pm

PARKING/TRANSIT:

  • Metered street parking is FREE on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7. Metered street parking in the Downtown area (see map here) is free from 5-7pm on Saturday, September 5.
  • $5 parking at the River Street Garage between 8am-5pm (must enter & exit within this time frame) on Saturday, September 5.
  • $5 parking on City Island 
  • The Market Square Garage is discounted to $10 from 10am-10pm (must enter & exit within this time frame) courtesy of Park Harrisburg.
  • The train station is a short 3 block walk away.

FREE ADA SHUTTLE BUS: A free ADA accessible shuttle bus will loop between City Island (parking garage side) and the riverfront festival (Front & Walnut Street) throughout the event each day.

ROAD CLOSURES:
- 9am Friday, September 4 until 10pm on Monday, September 7 - Front Street will be closed from Forster to Walnut Street  
- Sunday, September 6 from 7-9 pm - Market Street will be closed from 2nd Street to the West Shore. Cars will still be able to enter and exit the City Island parking lot via the West Shore. Walnut Street between 2nd & Front and Front Street between Walnut & Market will also be closed at this time.
