Hershey History Center Explores the Evolution of Local Infrastructure in Upcoming Presentation
The Hershey History Center invites the community to a special illustrated presentation, "Connecting Hershey: Bridges, Roads, and the Routes That Built Our Town". This program explores how transportation networks—from early canals and rail lines to trolley routes—shaped the growth and industry of Derry Township.
About the Program
The presentation will feature a rich slideshow of historic and contemporary images. Attendees will experience a visual "then and now" look at how local infrastructure evolved to connect people and power the region's industry. The program is designed for history enthusiasts and lifelong learners interested in how the movement of goods and people influenced everyday life in Hershey.
Featured Speaker
The session will be led by Tom Memmi, Historian and Archivist at the Pennsylvania State Police Museum. Memmi is an accomplished author and historian who has published a book on Pennsylvania history and delivered numerous historical presentations. His work focuses on making careful research accessible through storytelling to illustrate how transportation networks foster community growth.
There is no charge to attend the program. Donations online or at the door are much appreciated.
