‘Fabulous Fall Family Fun’ has a lot of Fs, and we even left out foliage, festivals, farms, and fresh food! In Hershey and Harrisburg, we do fall better, and that’s a fact! Whether you want to snap some selfies with your sweetie or are on the hunt for the perfect jack-o-lantern, look no further than these awesome autumn adventures!

Sweetly Spooky Amusement

It doesn’t have to be summer to be Hersheypark HappySM! For three weekends in October, you’ll find pumpkins and hay bales at every turn when your favorite rides and Hershey’s Characters get dressed up for Halloween at Hersheypark In The DarkSM. Children can wear their costumes and follow the trick-or-treat trail, collecting chocolate from life-sized candy bars (in capes)! This time of year, 13 is a lucky number when you’re talking about 13 thrilling “roller ghosters” zooming around after dark. Bring your flashlights for a special tour of the Creatures Of The Night® in ZooAmerica®. Don’t forget to sample the pumpkin funnel cake, only available during this special season! It’s always treats, never tricks, in Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth®

There’s nothing better than freshly picked produce, ripe with flavor and crisp to the crunch. You‘ll find these in your supermarkets, but wouldn’t you rather pick it right from the branch? Local farms like Strites Orchard send their fruits and vegetables to the stores, so this year, take the family to the fields to collect a bushel of apples and to find a plump pumpkin ready to carve. Don’t miss the bakery’s fresh selection of baked goods and fruit pies, especially if you’re not intending on cooking up those apples yourself! In the fall, our region harvests the most delicious produce, so load up your car and take the taste home. Also, the fallen leaves are free!

Down on the Farm

Have you ever heard of “agritainment”? Well, it’s short for agricultural entertainment, and you’ll find nothing short of that at the 15-acre Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, from barnyard animals and tractor rides to paintball and slides. You can belly flop into soft piles of hay, build a cabin from giant Lincoln Logs, and scale the Straw Bale Tower—just to name a few of the farm’s 50 activities! We recommend starting off with the Farm Tour Wagon Ride, a 20-minute behind-the-scenes tour of the property. At the Discovery Barn, the family can learn about the region’s agricultural heritage while interacting with the adorable farm animals. But the most a-maize-ing attraction is the sprawling 5-acre corn maze with 2.5 miles of paths, clues, and Kernels of Knowledge! It’ll take you about an hour to navigate the world’s most dynamic and interactive corn maze, but you’ll find your way out. They haven’t lost anyone yet!

A camera and autumn attire is all you need to have a good time. We’ll even supply the smiles!
