1. “Sweet Sensations of Spring” – Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country Weekends

May 6 thru 21, 2017 (Saturdays & Sundays)

Enjoy fun food pairings with handcrafted wines at 12 participating wineries located throughout the Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country. Each guest receives a wine tasting, a souvenir glass, and a 10 percent discount off all wine purchased. KEEP IN MIND: you will have to travel to each winery; this is not in one location. Buy your ticket will be good for all 6 days. Special bus & transportation packages are available through Premiere #1 Limousine. Single Tickets are $20 and Couple Tickets are $30.

2. “Murder Most Fowl” – Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise on Pride of Susquehanna Riverboat

May 12 thru June 9, 2017 (Fridays) – 2-Hour Cruise runs from 7-9pm.

It's a classic WHODUNNIT in these ever-popular dinner cruises aboard The Pride of the Susquehanna – Harrisburg’s authentic stern-driven paddle-wheel riverboat.  “Murder Most Fowl” sets the scene for a reality cooking show that seems to have all the right ingredients, but then someone gets cooked. Who Done it? Tickets are $49.50, which includes the 2-hour cruise and dinner.

3. “ABC Brewery – 20th Anniversary Fest”

May 13 thru May 20, 2017 (All-Month)

Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg is bringing out some old favorites to celebrate their 20th Birthday as one of the first micro-breweries in the region… long before breweries seemed to pop-up everywhere today. Their birthday bash will include their Throwback Menu, plus daily specials, selected Brew Tours, special events, and more.

4. “Foodie Fridays at Midstate Distillery”

May 19 thru Aug. 25, 2017 (Fridays)

Celebrate summer at Harrisburg's first distillery since Prohibition. Every Friday from May 19 through August 25, the Midstate Distillery will feature a local food truck or vendor from 4pm until food is gone. Their cocktail lounge & tasting room has great drink specials made with their handcrafted spirits and they even have a selection of PA beers and wines. Friday Happy Hour runs from 4-6pm --- with FREE Tastings & FREE parking.

5. “3rd In the Burg – Food Truck Feastival”

May 19 thru Oct. 20, 2017 (3rd Friday of the Month from May thru Oct.)

Businesses in Harrisburg’s Midtown District have been celebrating every 3rd Friday of the month by staying open late and hosting special events from open houses and art exhibits, to live music and lectures. Now they’ve added food trucks from MAD Sandwiches, Up In Smoke BBQ, The Chicken Truck, Soul Burrito, It's All Greek to You, Potato Coop, One Love Café and Kona Ice.

6. “Blues, Brews & BBQ at Spring Gate Vineyard”

May 20 & 21, 2017 (Sat & Sun)

This vineyard just received the Tourism Award for “Excellence In Programming” and this event is a prime example of why they deserved to be recognized for their events. They love Blues music, beer and BBQ --- and if you do too, you’ll want to celebrate it all that weekend at Spring Gate Vineyard in the Hershey Harrisburg Region.

7. “Flavorfest” at Mount Hope Estate & Winery

Memorial Day Weekend - May 27 & 28, 2017 (Sat & Sun)

This festival of flavor in Manheim has been around for a decade and should be on everyone’s “Must Try” list of events in this part of PA. This is a family-friendly event has FREE Admission, FREE Parking, and FREE Tastings… PLUS there are 26 wineries providing complimentary sampling and sales. And of course, anyone who has been to Mount Hope Estate has come to expect the usual cast of characters, entertainment & attractions that make this a unique environment to explore for the day.

8. “2017 Artsfest in Harrisburg” - Memorial Day Weekend

May 27 thru 29, 2017 (Sat, Sun, Mon)

Our annual Artsfest is a beautiful blend of 250 world-class juried artists, craftsmen, and entertainment set along the sparkling Susquehanna River in Harrisburg. This FREE Festival attracts over 40,000 people over a 3-day period who come to enjoy the art and relaxing atmosphere among the tree-lined paths of River Front Park and Harrisburg’s City Island Entertainment Complex. This Family-Friendly festival includes live music, Kidsfest, and Filmfest. Harrisburg Magazine has named this “Simply the Best” festival 6-years running.

9. “Tour De Belt – Organized Ride of Harrisburg’s Capital Area Greenbelt Bike Trail”

June 4, 2017 (Sunday)

This is not a food or beverage event, but it’s so good – it needs to be on this list. This 20-mile bike trail around the City is one of the nation’s oldest Greenways – and is really one of the greatest Hidden Gems of Harrisburg. This organized ride is the perfect way for someone to discover the entire multi-surface trail that winds riders around the City through a variety of settings from urban to the great outdoors. Registration is $20 for Adults & $7 for Children (ages 12 and under) – with all proceeds going to support the trail.

10. “Blue Crab Feast Cruise on Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat”

June 7 thru Oct. 18, 2017

The Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat has partnered with Harbor House Crabs for this All-You-Can-Eat Maryland blue crab feast. Space is limited for these popular cruises and they book fast, so act fast to get your spot. Tickets for the 2-hour Crab Feast Cruise are $45, but if you just want the cruise without the crab… that’s only $15.

11. “Dauphin County Music & Wine Festival” at Fort Hunter

June 10 & 11, 2017 (Sat & Sun)

Enjoy listening to a dynamic line-up of national and local recording artists all weekend in Harrisburg with FREE wine samples & sales from some of Central Pennsylvania's top wineries. There are a variety of craft and food vendors to enjoy as well, so bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets --- but leave your alcohol at home because outside beverages are not permitted. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the gate, one ticket is your two-day pass.

12. “Appalachian Trail Festival in Duncannon”

June 17, 2017 (Saturday)

Duncannon is an official Appalachian Trail Community that loves being a part of this National Treasure. While this isn’t a food-focused festival, it’s another unique opportunity to learn about one of PA’s greatest assets that often goes under-appreciated. This family-friendly festival is a great way to learn about the Appalachian Trail and other outdoor opportunities in Central PA. The event includes organized hikes and outdoor activities, with live music, special exhibits, presentations, and vendors. Admission and all presentations are FREE.

13. “Swine & Dine w/ All Things Pork” at Fort Hunter Park

June 25, 2017 (Sunday)

This new festival at Fort Hunter Mansion was inspired by the home’s one-time resident pig named Jim, who historians claim had apparently received many high honors in the 1920’s. Today, the festival pays homage to Jim with a host of food trucks and vendors serving their own unique pork & bacon-inspired offerings. Tickets are $5 to attend the event, but you will then buy samples or full servings at nominal fees from each vendor on location. The event includes live music, pig-inspired activities for the kids, and other entertainment throughout the day.

14. “4th of July – Taste of Independence Food Truck Festival & Fireworks Show”

July 4, 2017 (Tuesday)

The Capital City celebrates our independence along Riverfront Park & City Island with a family-friendly food truck festival, fireworks show, live music, kids activities and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.

15. “Brewfest” at Fort Hunter Mansion & Park

July 15, 2017 (Saturday)

The 6th Annual Brewfest will feature more than 30 craft brews and food from area restaurants, PLUS great live music and onsite tailgate games – all among the beautiful grounds of the historic Fort Hunter Mansion on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Tickets are $35 in advance, $50 at the door, and $15 for designated drivers.
