Unique to Harrisburg, City Island sits in the middle of the Susquehanna River and boasts a multitude of fun, family attractions and activities. If your family enjoys sports and the interactive and up-close-and-personal draw of the minor leagues, you’ll love taking the kids to a Harrisburg Senators baseball game or Harrisburg City Islanders soccer match. The Island is also home to carriage rides and mini golf. Extend the fun with an excursion as you’re heading in or heading out of the Hershey Harrisburg Region. In the Lancaster area to the east, check out Dutch Wonderland amusement park and The Turkey Hill Experience ice-cream exploration center. To the south you can Steam Into History aboard a replica Civil War-era steam locomotive. To the north, another steam locomotive adventure awaits in Ashland at Pioneer Coal Tunnel, where you can also travel through a coal mine into the side of Mahanoy Mountain.
