Summer’s heating up! Make the most of family time with these cool attractions in the Hershey Harrisburg Region. Whether you’re looking for activities on the water or in the water, we’ve got you covered. We even have suggestions for what to do on your way in and your way out that should help with the dreaded, “Are we there yet?”

City Island 

Unique to Harrisburg, City Island sits in the middle of the Susquehanna River and boasts a multitude of fun, family attractions and activities. If your family enjoys sports and the interactive and up-close-and-personal draw of the minor leagues, you’ll love taking the kids to a Harrisburg Senators baseball game or Harrisburg City Islanders soccer match. The Island is also home to carriage rides and mini golf. It also serves as the docking station for the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat, offering fun-themed family and kids’ cruises throughout the summer.

The Boardwalk At Hersheypark®

Soak up summertime with your family at The Boardwalk, included in your one-price admission to Hersheypark®. No matter what ages or thrill levels, there is refreshing water fun for everyone to enjoy. For youngsters, there’s Shoreline Sprayground, Bayside Pier, and Sandcastle Cove. Older kids and parents will enjoy attractions ranging from a relaxing float in a tube down the Intercoastal Waterway, to the drenching Tidal Force® water coaster, massive East Coast Waterworks water play structure, and the skill-testing surfboard attraction, Waverider, just to name a few! And when you need to dry off for a bit, there are plenty of boardwalk-style games, strolling summer entertainment and delicious food options nearby to keep you Hersheypark Happy.

 

 

Coming Or Going

Extend the fun with an excursion as you’re heading in or heading out of the Hershey Harrisburg Region. In the Lancaster area to the east, check out Dutch Wonderland amusement park and The Turkey Hill Experience ice-cream exploration center. To the south you can Steam Into History aboard a replica Civil War-era steam locomotive. To the north, another steam locomotive adventure awaits in Ashland at Pioneer Coal Tunnel, where you can also travel through a coal mine into the side of Mahanoy Mountain. Stop in Centre Hall for Penn’s Cave to explore America’s only all water cavern and wildlife park with your family. Also to the south,wear everyone out before the long drive, with adventure packages at Roundtop Mountain Resort in Lewisberry.
