GiBBZ is a Singer/Producer/Alter ego of Mike Gibney. After receiving a "degree" from The Berklee School of Music, Mike Gibney began working full time in and out of the studio for such artists as Soulive, Lettuce, Talib Kweli, Pharaoh Monch, Consequence, and others. After 4 years of working in a professional music environment as an engineer, he realized being an engineer is a thankless, miserable existence. Soon after, he met members of what is now the Lowtemp label, including Gramatik and Exmag. They convinced him that it's OK to drink copious amounts of alcohol and make everyone within a 30 ft radius uncomfortable. Out of this drunken, obnoxious, perverted, glutinous, offensive mess of a man, GiBBZ was born.
Born a young man, yet a relic in the eyes of time, the first of a new breed is among us. Cold as ice, smooth as the Great Lakes, silent as a viper as it slips through the desert sand, mango enthusiast BRANX is a tidal wave of silk and passion sweeping the dance floor. Prepare yourself.
BRANX (Formerly DCarls) IS Juicy Funk & Colossal Beats.
Dance music. Nothing hits me quite like it, house music is my main focus, however I also like other sub genres, such as trance, techno, dubstep, and drum & bass just to name a few. I don't only listen to it, I also DJ and produce it, I've been DJing since I was 13 but I didn't take it seriously until I was about 15 and house music became a huge part of my life. Now my life revolves around dance music, dance music culture, the DJ scene and everything that has to do with DJ technology.
