Faith, Family & Community: Folk Art Links to the Early Pennsylvania Dutch in Perry County

This exhibit highlights the connection of Perry County’s early Pennsylvania Dutch (also known as Pennsylvania German) settlements, centered in Loysville and in Pfoutz Valley, where the Lutheran and Reformed churches and associated schools were pivotal components of their lifeways.  Often migrating as family or church groups from Southeastern Pennsylvania, these settlers sometimes followed their pastors, and likewise, the artisans recording their significant religious rites and passages followed closely behind.

Hours: Tues & Wed 10:00am – 5:00pm, Thurs & Fri 10:00am - 6:30pm, Sat 10:00am – 3:00pm.
