Collaboration between Hershey Symphony and The M.S. Hershey Foundation dates back to 1969, when several Hershey residents approached the Hershey Education and Cultural Center, an operating division of The M.S. Hershey Foundation, for support in their efforts to establish a community orchestra. Formed that same year, the Hershey Symphony Orchestra Society, today known as Hershey Symphony, has been performing for nearly 50 years. The orchestra has been under the direction of Dr. Sandra Dackow since 1991. In 2014, Hershey Symphony debuted at Carnegie Hall.
