For the eleventh consecutive year, the Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society has a train display, built by local volunteers, in the museum for the holiday season.
There is also a section devoted to historic buildings that still stand, or once stood, in downtown Hershey. Some of the buildings are the Cocoa Inn, Hershey Railroad Station, Cocoa House, Hershey Chocolate factory.
Along the sides of the display are activity buttons for "the big kids and the little kids." Guests may push the buttons to activate trains, amusement rides or other items in the display.
The eight trains in the display are mostly Lionel, but there are a few other manufacturers, and most date between the 1930s and the 1960s.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the exhibit as a greeter or train operator should contact the society at 717-520-0748. The society is at 40 Northeast Drive, Hershey.
