This year our event will be at 2nd and Charles Book Store at the Harrisburg Mall. This is a free event. We’re very excited about the lineup this year!
We are thrilled this year to have J. G. Hertzler joining us. He played Martok on Star Trek Deep Space 9 and also appeared in the pilot episode, “Emissary” as a Vulcan Captain. He has played quite a few other roles in the Star Trek Universe plus has quite an extensive career in addition to Star Trek. He also recently narrated the audio book “Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard.
Marc Okrand, creator of the Klingon Language will also be joining us. Mr. Okrand has worked with Klingon, Vulcan, and Romulan languages while working with Star Trek. He has also written 3 books about the Klingon language, “The Klingon Dictionary”, “The Klingon Way”, and “Klingon for the Galactic Traveler”. Come hear about the inspirations for the Klingon language.
Author Michael Jan Friedman will be one of our guests. Mr. Friedman has written quite a few science fiction novels in various sci fi universes. Several have appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list. He also co-wrote an episode for Star Trek Voyager, “Resistance”.
Artist, Mitch Bentley from Atomic Fly Studios will also be one of our guests. Mr. Bentley does some incredible outer space and Sci Fi Paintings. Come check out his work!
Joining us again this year will be the Capital City Jedi Knights. The Jedi do choreographed Light Saber fights which are often done for charity. Come learn how to do the saber fights yourself after they demonstrate. This is a group that’s always fun to watch!
We’re happy to have Dark Operations joining us. Royce Essig and Nathan Schell, who are executive producers, will be there to meet attendees and tell them about their upcoming project. They produce an Indie film series about a crew of not so likely heroes. They are currently working on episodes 2 and 3 and are looking for potential actors and actresses.
Jay Ansky and Michael Smith, the Star Trek Wolves, will also be our guests. These two guys portray wolf “furries” often times for charity. Have fun having your photo taken with these guys!
We’ll be having plenty of photo ops at the event. First, the USS Susquehannock Starfleet Chapter will have a green screen with multiple themed backgrounds. Cosplayers in particular will enjoy this photo op. Proceeds from this will go to a great cause, The Wolf Sanctuary of Lititz. Klingon fans will enjoy having their picture taken in a Klingon chair complete with Bat’leth background.
Central PA Ghost Busters will be joining us again as well. They will be bringing their very cool Ecto 1 vehicle. Come have your picture taken with the Ghostbusters and the car. This is another great group that helps raise money for various charities.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, the USS Susquehannock Starfleet Chapter will be reenacting the First Contact of the Humans and Vulcans. We will be having a special Star Trek cake to celebrate. Come have a piece of future history!
Do you love today's music but feel the lyrics could use a little Sci Fi pizzazz? Denebian Slime Devils will be doing their sci fi themed Filk once again at our Sci Fi Day. You'll hear popular songs with lyrics from favorite Sci Fi shows such as Star Trek, Dr. Who, Star Wars, and more!
We’ll be joined by Central PA Avengers this year. This is a group of cosplayers whose mission it is to give back to the community. They will also be bringing their Shield SUV for Photo ops. These people look amazing!
Explore logic of meditation with wellness coach, Jennifer Wickline, one of our resident Vulcans. Jennifer will present a 45 minute mission to seek out ways to meditate and examine why meditation may help you live long and prosper.
Cap and Ton will be heading up Sci Fi Themed games for all our gamers. They will also be doing a Sci Fi Presentation. These guys are a lot of fun and hilarious to listen to.
Fortress Publications are back with another of their funny Sci Fi themed books. They will be introducing their newest, “TV Gods”.
Charles Oldland from the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg will be joining us again. He does some fascinating presentations about various aspects of our universe.
To celebrate Star Trek’s 50th anniversary the USS Susquehannock has set up a 50 facts about Star Trek panel for our fellow fans. Come see how much you know about Star Trek.
We will also have the Julius Fealtman Memorial AT-ST. This beautiful replica is great for photo ops. It was donated by the grandparents of Julius Fealtman who was a huge Star Wars fan and had enjoyed playing with the AT-ST.
