The Days & Nights of Fall

Don’t tell the other seasons, but fall might just be the most beautiful time of year to visit the Hershey Harrisburg Region. Brilliant colors paint the mountainside, while cool mornings and crisp nights make way for breathtaking sunrises and sensational sunsets. And the region is buzzing with countless things to do ranging from distinctive to delicious!

Farm to Table

Harvest the best of our region’s gardens and farms without getting your hands dirty. Our farm-to-table establishments pride themselves on designing delicious menus that make the most of the season’s fresh and local ingredients. The Mill in Hershey serves up in a distinctive atmosphere within the restored walls of a historic feed mill. For farm-fresh taste with a city vibe, visit Harrisburg’s award-winning restaurant Home 231, nestled a block from the State Capitol Building. Head to Midtown Harrisburg to experience, The Millworks, a restaurant-meets-brewery-meets-art-gallery mash-up with a ‘hyper-local’ approach. From kale to pale ale, the Vegetable Hunter in Harrisburg pairs vegan and vegetarian eats with boutique brews.

Home of the Brave

Whether you’re looking to add a dash of military history to your travels or walk a mile in the boots of our nation’s finest, the Harrisburg Hershey Region has lots to offer! Start your visit in Harrisburg at the National Civil War Museum, exploring the exhibits and learning the whole story of this turbulent time in American history. It’s just a short drive south to set foot on the hallowed grounds of Gettysburg, the unexpected battlefield that became the turning point of the war. On your way back to the region, the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle tells the story of our nation’s Army, from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror. The indoor and outdoor exhibits chronicle the life of Army soldiers and recreates the scenes of our fascinating military heritage.

It’s Always Wine O’ Clock

Wine flies when you’re having fun at the vineyards in Harrisburg and Hershey! Spend a day or two (or three!) sipping your way through the region and mingling with the winemakers and brewers behind the magic. In Hershey, be sure to stop by Cullari Vineyards for a bottle of their award-winning chocolate wine, Coco Nostra. If you also like craft beers, head over to The Vineyard and Brewery at Hershey with a seasonal rotation of beers, wines, and ciders. There is never a dull moment at Spring Gate Vineyard where guests enjoy a never-ending schedule of festivals, feasts, events, and creative libations like wine slushies and beer milkshakes. Escape to the countryside at Bucks Valley Winery and Vineyards to take in the scenic views of Pennsylvania’s foliage paired with fine wine and food, fresh from their brick oven.

The Finer Things

There’s no better place to indulge than the fine establishments that call Harrisburg and Hershey home. Place your bets on a delectable steak dinner at Final Cut Steakhouse, located at the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course. Set your cares aside with stay at The Hotel Hershey® for next-level luxury with a touch of chocolate. Enjoy a relaxing treatment at The Spa At The Hotel Hershey® or browse the fine selection of designer jewelry including chocolate diamonds at The Jeweler At The Hotel Hershey®. At the Très Bonne Annèe, wine enthusiasts can swish and sip the best grapes on the East Coast, bid on a bottle at the auction, and enjoy a multi-course meal at the black-tie gala. If you like whiskey, the Central PA Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival needs taste testers, with more than 200 varieties to try!
