Wine and chocolate make a very tasty pairing, especially around Valentine's - no - ValenWine's weekends in February. The vineyards of Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country take the chill out of the winter air with this signature event. Cozy up with the one you love or a group of your best friends to see which wines pair best with chocolates from around the world. (And a few of your favorite Hershey's brand candies will likely make their way into the tasting rooms as well. A nicely-spiced red with a Hershey's BLISS Raspberry Meltaway? Yes please.)
Pairing wine with chocolate is one thing, but the Vineyard at Hershey goes a step further to put the chocolate flavor in the wine. The Winemaker Paul Vezzetti originally balked at creating a chocolate wine, but eventually decided to experiment with cocoa nibs and a Merlot base. The result is one of the winery's most popular offerings - the Cocoa di Vezetti Chocolate Port.
Whether it's a chocolate Merlot, a crisp white or another savory specialty dreamed up at harvest, you'll find something for your palette. Local, hand-crafted wines. Chocolate. Good company. Great entertainment. Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate with Cupid! One ticket covers tastings at all participating wineries and also extends access to a 10% discount on any wine purchases.
Valenwine's Weekends are February 11-12 and 18-19. Tickets are $15 or $25 for couples. Can't make it for ValenWine's weekends? The wineries are open for tastings and events every weekend, and the will host their next combined experience in May for Spring Sensations. Stay posted for details!
