Show of hands. How many of you said, “I can’t believe it’s June” when you turned your calendar over for the 6th time this year? I did. And as fast as it came ‘round, it will seem ton leave us even faster! The summer that we wait on for so long can be a bit cruel like that, so let’s plan the best summer ever, shall we? We’ve put together some of June’s best events, but the list doesn’t end here! New events are added to our Calendar every day.
Sensory-Friendly Evening at The Hershey Story
We love that Hershey Story opens special hours for a sensory-friendly event. The vibrant sights and sounds of summer that thrill so many of us can be frightening for some children, and this event gives them a chance to learn and play in a comfortable environment.
June 5-20 (Select Dates)
Shakespeare in the Park
The Bard is classic theater in any space, but there is something very special about an open-air performance under a summer sky! Gamut Theatre takes on Shakespeare’s tragedy of Troilus and Cressida this month for a FREE run in Harrisburg’s Reservoir Park. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets, and watch the cast bring this epic war romance to life with a modern edge. Reservoir Park is the highest point in the city, with gorgeous views of the Susquehanna River Valley and Blue Mountains.
June 10 (Through August 23)
Mountain Adventure @ Roundtop Mountain Resort
Did you know that Roundtop is one of only 3 places in the country where you can OGO? What’s “OGO?” It’s a giant, inflated ball that several adults and/or children can climb inside and then roll down a mountain. BIG TIME fun. Oh, OGO can be filled with water too. If rolling down a mountain isn’t your thing, Mountain Adventures has climbing walls, zip lines, mazes and more for activities suited for the whole family from ages 5 & up.

The Elegance at Hershey
This treasured and long-running event at The Hotel Hershey is one that you have to experience to truly appreciate. Mr. Hershey’s classic and timeless hotel is the perfect setting for nearly 100 classic cars. The weekend takes on an “elegant,” throwback feel that brings families back year after year. You MUST make time to watch the Vintage Hill Climb race on the hotel grounds.
Dauphin County Music & Wine
The cool sounds of nationally-acclaimed musicians. The region’s best wines. A gorgeous historic mansion and a long and lazy Susquehanna River as scenic backdrops. Sounds enticing, doesn’t it? Pack your favorite lawn chairs or blankets and join us at the annual Dauphin County Music and Wine Festival at Fort Hunter Park for two days of music featuring Otis Taylor, Anthony "Big A" Sherrod, Jimmy Prichard Band and Boogie Wonderland. The region's best wineries have you covered with cool refreshments!
Harrisburg Half Marathon
A sea of runners making waves through Downtown Harrisburg is a pretty cool sight. There is still time to register for this event that takes runners past historic landmarks and along the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River. This course is mostly flat and paved, so it’s a great race for first time halfers!

June 27 - 28
Summer Concerts at Hersheypark Stadium
On June 27, it’s a Throwback party to the 90s when New Kids on the Block headline a tour with the bands that truly did own the mix tape era! Then on June 28, the bands that currently rule the digital download take the stage. Great seats are still available for both. Don’t forget that your concert ticket gets you a price break on admission to Hersheypark. Ride by day. Rock by night!
Tip: June is a great time to visit Hersheypark. July and August are traditionally more crowded, so a June visit might mean that you get to ride your favorite coaster a few extra times without a longer line.
