For nine days in April into May, it's all about the brew. The region's craft brewing community comes together to toast the inaugural Harrisburg Beer Week April 24 - May 2. Pano Craft brewing in the Hershey Harrisburg Region has long had a name for itself on the strength and success of Troegs Brewing (Men's Journal puts Troegs' Nugget Nectar in its list of Top 101 beers IN THE NATION) and Appalachian Brewing Company (ABC). But in recent years a new generation of craft brewing has exploded onto the scene, creating a vibrant (and flavorful) landscape for craft beer lovers to explore. The week is filled with more than 100 events from happy hours to seminars. Brew fans should look forward to a special collaborative brew from three of the region's most respected brewers. Troegs, ABC and Pizza Boy Brewing joined forces to conjure up the (717) Collaboration Ale, an IPA-style brew built on saison yeasts, local malts and honey.

Along with the new events created for Beer Week, an old favorite returns as well. 40 Pennsylvania Breweries. 20 PA Preferred food producers. 20 PA Preferred restaurants. One ticket gives you access to the entire slate of tastings and food pairings during PA Flavor at at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center set for Saturday, April 25.

Anytime is a good time to visit us and relax with good friends and a good brew. But if you love craft beer, Harrisburg Beer Week will have that extra "buzz" of excitement plus the educational spotlight that really add to the trip. And it's all for a great cause. Harrisburg Beer Week benefits Harrisburg River Rescue.
