Did you know that animals are more active when the weather starts to turn cooler? This makes September a natural time to check our area safari and zoo attractions! Go wild with 150 acres of exotic adventure at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax, and head to Hershey for ZooAmerica®, the year-round 11-acre walk-thru zoo adjacent to Hersheypark.
Since 1965, Like Tobias Wildlife Park has been captivating guests with its wild world of animals, all conveniently tucked away right here in the Central Pennsylvania countryside. At the park, specially designed cruisers take you on safari tours to see herds of wild and exotic animals. There’s also wildlife you can touch and feed in the Petting Zoo, and a Reptiles & Exotics Building to see all things scaly, slithery and creepy.
For a sweet zoo experience, head to ZooAmerica® in Hershey, the town built on chocolate! Stroll the tree-lined pathways as you learn about more than 200 animals from five regions of North America. Group educational programs and tours are also available, and on Tuesdays in September, the zoo offers a special preschool program, Animal Tales, featuring crafts, story time and zoo walks for children ages 3-5.
