The Whitaker Center is home to the Harsco Science Center - three floors of hands-on exhibits that are sure to entertain the kids (and you) for hours. Exhibits include shopping at Midtown Market, learning about weather through Forces of Nature, and Backstage Studio – a working studio designed for audio and video expression. While you’re there, be sure to check out the Sunoco Performance Theater for local and national performance acts, as well as see what’s playing on the big screen (38 feet high and 70 feet wide) at the Select Medical Digital Cinema. 

 

The Pennsylvania National Fire Museum, Harrisburg, PAHidden in a historic Victorian Firehouse in Midtown Harrisburg is The Pennsylvania National Fire Museum. Once home to Reily Hose Company Number 10, this one-of-a-kind setting now tells the tale of our nation’s firefighting history. In as little as 90 minutes, explore the complete history of fire service from the 1700s to present day. Little firefighters will love seeing antiques dating all the way back to the horse-drawn era of firefighting that include hand-held equipment.
