The World’s Largest Outdoor Show comes to Harrisburg, PA, for nine days in February at the PA Farm Show Complex & Expo Center. The Great American Outdoor Show features hundreds of the nation's elite vendors for camping, fishing, boating, hunting, firearms and more. Outdoor enthusiasts flock to the show each year. We had a Q&A with the producers of the show – the National Rifle Association. Check out their interesting answers below.

How many people visit the Great American Outdoor Show each year?
Nearly 200,000 attendees visit the World’s Largest Outdoor Show every year. This is NRA’s 4th year producing the Great American Outdoor Show. It was a goal of ours from the beginning to turn the event into a national destination. By promoting to NRA Members and outdoors-men and women across the country, we now routinely see attendees from over 40 states each year.

How long does the show take to set up/tear down?
The World’s Largest Outdoor Show doesn’t come together easily, but the NRA has an amazing team in place to plan year-round. Exhibitors start arriving on site a few days before the event to set up their booths, and it’s like clockwork watching all 650,000 square feet of exhibit hall space get filled and primed for the first attendees as they walk through the door on Saturday, February 4th.

Are there any new events or exhibits at the show this year?
The Great American Outdoor Show is unlike any other outdoor consumer show in the country due to the size and scope of the event. There are more than 1,000 exhibitors including major manufacturers from all outdoor product categories. The event also features evening entertainment such as a NRA Country Concert, headlined by country star Dustin Lynch. In 2016 we featured the Dock Dogs Jumping Contest in the Large Arena and it was a huge hit. We’ll be bringing them back for the 2017 event. We’ll also be adding Wild Game Cooking demos across the show.

Are there any celebrities in attendance this year?
The Great American Outdoor Show features over 200 seminars from fishing and hunting pros. It’s normal to walk the halls of the Great American Outdoor Show and pass your favorite outdoor celebrity. Jim Shockey will be returning in 2017 along with a long list of others. We take pride in bringing new faces and names every year to the show so it’s a unique experience from year to year.

If you’re coming for the first time, what’s one thing you can’t miss?
The biggest thing we hear year after year is that you can’t see this whole show in just one day. So, be sure to plan to visit the show for multiple days.

The thing to remember about the Great American Outdoor Show is that there’s something for the whole family. There’s not just one event that drives attendance at the Great American Outdoor Show, it’s the ability to experience all that the outdoors has to offer.

If you come every year, what’s something you should check out that you may have skipped in years past?
Check out the full line of new products from major firearm manufacturers in the Shooting Sports Hall, try out a new bow in the Archery Lanes or test your skills in the 3D Bowhunting competition. You can attend a seminar to help perfect your hunting and fishing skills, enjoy an interactive air gun experience, and book the hunt of a lifetime from one of over 400 outfitters. If it’s in the outdoors, it’s here!
