2010 Travel Planner becomes primary tool for Hershey Harrisburg Region’s market expansion plans

Harrisburg, PA (June 10, 2010) – The Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau (HHRVB) has embraced their annual HHRVB Group Tour Planner as the primary tool for expanding their share of the religious groups and reunion market.

HHRVB officials recently announced plans for a more concentrated effort into these two group markets following an extensive study conducted by the bureau in late 2009.  The research identified significant growth potential for the Hershey Harrisburg Region among those two specific group segments, according to Sharon Altland, HHRVB Director of Sales.

“The 2010 HHRVB Group Tour Planner is an ideal tool for the group tour markets we are pursuing more aggressively in this new economy,” said Altland.  “The planner was designed for users to easily identify group-oriented attractions and accommodations along with valuable group tour resources including itineraries, group planner services, and advice on where to stay.”

During new trade shows added in the first quarter of 2010, religious group leaders and reunion organizers have been showing the most interest in the National Civil War Museum, Hersheypark, Sight and Sound Theatre, and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, according to Altland.  HHRVB recently attended the African American Travel Conference in Niagara Falls and plans to attend Going On Faith in Joplin, Mo. and World Religious Travel Association in Nashville, Tenn.

In addition to the new scrapbook appearance of the 2010 HHRVB Group Tour Planner, the smaller design and new layout give the planner a more attractive and sleek appearance.  New testimonials from local transportation companies and hotel representatives also help to illustrate all of the regional assets and services important to group tour planners. The planner is once again available in both print and virtual versions on HersheyHarrisburg.org.
