Economic Impact Report for Events in Q2 =$20 Million

New economic impact report shows the Top 7 Meetings and Events held in association with HHRVB's sales & client services generated an estimated $20 million for the regional economy and attracted approximately 76,000 people to the region between April – June in 2015 (Q2). Tourism Officials project the economic impact from events this July will beat entire Q2 numbers thanks to Mennonite World Conference & Mecum Auctions.

 

HARRISBURG (July 16, 2015) – The Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau (HHRVB) today released an economic impact report showing the Top 7 Meetings and Events held in association with the organization’s sales efforts or client services during the second quarter of 2015 generated an estimated $20 million for the regional economy and attracted approximately 76,000 people to the region between April – June in 2015. Tourism Officials project the economic impact from events this July will beat entire Q2 impact numbers thanks to Mennonite World Conference & Mecum Auctions.

SPOILER ALERT: The bureau report also included projections that July’s economic impact for events will exceed the entire Q2 results with two of the bureau’s Top 5 Economic Impact Events in 2015 taking place this month at the PA Farm Show Complex & Expo Center. According to the report, Mennonite World Conference (ranked #4 Economic Impact/ #15 Attendance) and Mecum Auctions (ranked #5 Economic Impact/ #6 Attendance) will generate $22 million for the region.
